A shift in environmental values is taking place in mainstream culture due to peoples experiences of climate change. Cultural responses to global warming vary in scale. Consumers are tending to buy more green products. Politicians are using their environmental stance as their major political platform. More radical upsets are happening such as population dislocations, food shortages, economic disruption, and political upheaval.
Arctic communities adjust to climate change
Northern Canada and the Arctic ice caps see environmental changes. Dolphins, robins, and finches have been spotted on Baffin Island; species never seen in the North before. Hunters are falling through unseasonably thin ice. Migrating animals have changed their grassing routs causing a shortage in Inuits food sources.
